Postdoc Research Mentor Training (PDRMT)
The objective of the workshop is to enrich current mentoring practices by providing mentors with evidence-based approaches to research mentoring while offering a forum in which to solve dilemmas. This training comes from the Center For the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) and the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN).
PDRMT is recognized by the NIH and NSF in grant applications as evidence of a commitment to trainee mentoring, including trainees from diverse backgrounds. This training has the potential to increase research productivity by strengthening the mentoring relationship. The competencies addressed in the training foster well-being (especially mental wellbeing) of lab members, reducing conflicts that can hinder research progress.
